Sheryl Darlene Burrell Powell was born on January 16, 1957 in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She was the middle child of two sisters conceived by the late Christine Perry and Collie Burrell.
Sheryl was a easy going happy child who attend public school 145 then graduating to JHS 55 there after attended Jefferson High School where she enjoy learning a nursing trade.
She began her young adult life working as home health aide and domestic worker for more than 20 years.
Sheryl then became a mom and gave birth to 4 beautiful children. She was a loving, easy going happy person who enjoy music, junk food, and the company of others. She was a very social person.
Sheryl then moved to the Bronx, New York where she adopted the nickname “Fire” which she was known by many. Sheryl then union with her soul mate Estaban Powell. She was a devoted grandmother, she enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She also loved to attend Sunday Service with her neighbor (Debbie).
Sheryl is survived by her husband Estaban, her four children, shanequa, Ronald Jr., Ebony, April, James Polk whom she always considered in her own words “my son in-law”, 7 grandchildren, Deont’e, Devont’e, Zándrian, Sha’lelk, AdullaH, Dominique and Emya.
One sister Leasia. One brother in-law George Sanders, one sister in-law, one nephew Lamont and host of friends and family.
