OBITUARY

I am the resurrection and the Life, Saith the Lord: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me, shall never die.
I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though his body be destroyed, yet shall I see GOD: whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger.

We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
John II:25:26

Dickie Marshall Jessup was born to the late Newton Robinson and Mary Ruth Jessup on April 19, 1951, in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. At Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY the Lord called Dickie Marshall Jessup to eternal rest on May 12, 2009.  Preceding his death is one brother Jimmy Robinson, one sister Martha Jessup, one special  aunt Dorothy Sherdian.

Dickie called Tricky by friends and affectionately called Popduke by his children was a very detrimental influence to all who knew him. He inspired everyone around him to want more out of life and always had words of encouragement to anyone who needed it.  Not to mention his smile, sincerity to those around him is just a few of the things that will be truly missed.

Raised in White Oak, NC., Dickie received his education at Bladen  Central High School in Elizabethtown, NC.  He later went on to work as a Brick Mason until his union with his first wife Ada Lloyd and moved to Brooklyn, NY.  They were blessed with six children: Amy Lloyd Jessup (Bklyn ,NY), April Lloyd  Jessup (White Oak, NC), Kenya Lloyd Jessup (White oak, NC), Richard Lloyd Jessup (Bklyn, NY), Shondell Lloyd Jessup (Bklyn, NY), and Jermaine Lloyd Jessup (Bklyn, NY).  He also has a daughter Christal Williams (NY, NY).

In August 2004, Dickie married Donna Phillip whom he leaves to cherish his loving memories.

Dickie also leaves to cherish one very close sister, Mary Jessup (Elizabethtown, NC), one special and loyal nephew Kenneth Jessup (White Oak, NC), one special niece Robin Jessup (Queens, NY), Grandchildren:  Darius, Elijah, Lyndell Jr., Tyra, Tierra, Jordan, Queenaisa, Tramel, Dajohn, Tashawna, Shondell Jr., Deshawn, Jonathan and Joseph.  Two special close cousins Barbara Sherdian, Jacklyn Sherdian.
