OBITUARY

Charles Kenrick Robinson arrived in this world to the late Ethlynde Robinson and Fredrick Jordan of February 1, 1961 in Esiquibo, Guyana.  Charles relocated to Queens, New York in June of 1976 in lieu to moving to Brooklyn, New York shortly after.

Charles completed his education at Cardoza High School in Queens, New York in 1979.  Here, Charles excelled in Track and Field.  After high school, he chose to enlist in the United States Army were he served until being Honorably Discharged in 1987.  following his eight years of military service, Charles began two decades of service to the city of New York in various capacities.  First, he joined the New York City Department of Corrections where he was a Corrections Officer until 1991.  in ’91, Charles began work with the Transit Division of the New York Police Department.  While working in this department, Charles diligently succeeded in his daily responsibilities and was promoted to Sergeant on September 24, 2004.  After this promotion, Charles was assigned to the 79th Precinct of the New York Police Department until his death on November 11, 2009 at Brookdale Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Along with serving his city for 20 years, Charles had a host of hobbies that he enjoyed including: cruising, playing dominoes, riding motorcycles, and a love for all kinds of music.  Charles also served his Brooklyn community as a ScoutMaster.  Charles will always be remembered as an unselfish man who was always willing to help his fellow person.  Charles will also be remembered as a perfectionist who performed everything “by the book”, a quality that his many coworkers, friends, and family members can attest to.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory one son Charles Jr., of Durham, North Carolina, one daughter Seriah Robinson of Augusta, Georgia, sister Cicely Johnson of Brooklyn with nephew Errol Johnson and niece Stacey Johnson, brother David Jordan of Brooklyn (with children Tisha and Devon Jordan along with others), sister Carol Jordan of Brooklyn (with children Jermaine and Caroline Jordan along with others), 1st cousin Dennis Morgan of Long Island, 1st cousin Audrick George of Florida, 1st cousin Heather Morgan of Virginia, 1st cousin Pauline Rampersaud of Virginia, Maxine Carr (a loving fiancée) of Brooklyn, and a host of other family members, coworkers, and friends.
