Obituary Honoring the life of: Charles Edward Moore Vietnam War Veteran ‘Rest In Peace” It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Charles Moore (known as CMoore) on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in his 76th year at the Maimonides Medical Center. We are gathered here to celebrate the life and going home of CMoore. CMoore started life August 1945 in Asheville, North Carolina and grew up being a prominent athlete and good student at Stephens Lee High school. His friends remembered that he was an excellent baseball, basketball and football player. After high school CMoore studied Business and Finance at North Carolina Central University, then his turn to serve in Vietnam rolled around and he joined up with the “C company of the 20th Combat Engineer Battalion Unit. After serving two (2) years with his Combat Unit and four (4) more years as a reservist, he was honorably discharged with distinction and returned home as a proud Vietnam Veteran. Although CMoore thought that their welcome home from Vietnam was inadequate, he focused on moving forward in life. Charles moved to New York City in 1970 where he met his beautiful wife Lydia and begun a family. During their 48 years of marriage, they had two daughters, Carisa and Latrisha. Charles was a loving husband, grateful dad and a dedicated grandfather. CMoore quickly excelled as a community supporter, often called upon by neighbors to iron-out issues and organizer of the community social events (his unofficial titled was Parkside Avenue Block Mayor). Charles’ love of community was also demonstrated in his work environment, where he served as the Labor Union representative. Charles worked as an assistant Manager in the Human Resources/Labor Relations department at Brooklyn Hospital. During his tenure at Brooklyn Hospital Charles enrolled at Columbia Business School to continue his education and climb up the corporate ladder. After several years of medical challenges (in and out of the hospital), CMoore sunset on September 26, 2021. His memory will live on in his spouse, two daughters, seven (7) grandchildren, great-grands, brother (Albert (Ned) Moore), relatives and many dear friends. “Rest In Peace CMoore”
