Daryl W. Middleton

Daryl William Middleton “Dee Day”,60, of Brooklyn, New York, succumbed to cancer at his home surrounded by his family on January 6, 2017. Daryl was born July 11, 1956 in Brooklyn New York to the late Olden Middleton and the late Emma Marie Dixon-Middleton. Daryl was a passionate man who enjoyed his automotive career. From his teenage years he was fascinated with fast cars, so much so he took the engine from a lawn mower and used it to build a go kart. His desire to fix and race cars led to many years of work as a phenomenal mechanic. He worked at Meineke for many years however, his most notable position began in 2002 where he took work with the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority. There he was the jack of all trades fixing everything from brakes to air conditioning. He may have completed work on the very bus you used to get here. He started small at MTA beginning as a helper working his way up to line supervisor. Upon his early retirement Daryl and Belinda had a quaint little house built in Summerville South Carolina where they enjoyed a quiet life meeting their neighbors and watching their grass grow. Daryl married Belinda and from this union combined a total of five children Latoya Middleton the late Darryl Sharper (Ruth) Tanesha Middleton, Daryl Timberlake and Sha-mell Maddox. Daryl’s family knew him only as kind and insightful; highly intelligent with the most humorous sarcastic sense of humor. His words were always thought provoking even if he were joking. He was known for giving the kindest unbiased advice and had a gentle way of nudging you to see the error in your ways. Daryl also know as Super-Dad was a gentle father and kind friend to us all. Daryl is survived by his loving wife Belinda of 26 years, their children Latoya Middleton, Tanesha Middleton, Daryl Timberlake and Sha-Mell Maddox. His sister’s Judy Bibbins and Tonya Middleton, 2 great grand children, 13 grandchildren; mother-in-law Ida Richardson; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Daryl was a loving husband, father, mentor and friend to us all.
