Elizabeth Betty Brown

Elizabeth Betty Brown was born in Mines District, Jamaica West Indies to Ledora Bennett on September 28, 1948. On the morning of Monday, January 23, 2023, the Lord called her to enter into His eternal rest. Elizabeth attended and graduated from high school in Mount Zion, Jamaica. Her favorite subject was Home Economics. She married Leonard Leroy Brown on November 12, 1966 in August Town Kingston Jamaica. From that union three children were born. Genell, Aston, and Gary. Elizabeth worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Gouverneur Hospital in New York City for 24 years. She was a very active person. She loved taking mornings walks, dancing and exercising. Her favorite music was country music. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and old western shows. Her favorite color was red. She was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees. She enjoyed traveling to different states to watch the Yankees play. Her favorite sayings were “Follow your dreams”, “Think of the consequences”, and “You know who to go to”. Elizabeth was easy going and she was extremely proud of her immediate family. She is survived by her husband Leonard Leroy Brown, daughter Genell Lorencia Bradley (Dexter Bradley), son Aston Brown (Lorna Nicholls- Brown), son Gary Brown (Tamra Scott Brown) & Chaka Rogers; Grandchildren; Icilda, Genisha, Dexter Jr, Gary Jr, Daqwyn, Devaughn, Ashley, Aston Jr, Shaquasa; great grandchildren Naziya, Josiah, Sariya, Nova, Kairi, Aleena-Brooke, Shyann; Sisters Beverly, Evadney, Nina; brothers Ralph, Duke; aunts Luna, Rebecca, Vesti; cousins Sebert, Melissa, Nicolas, Kevin. She was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Ledora Icilda Bennett, sister Eleatha and brother Denham. The family of the late Elizabeth Betty Brown of Mines District St Ann Bay, Jamaica wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbors and well-wishers who attended the wake, service, burial and those who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, traveled long distance, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, we are truly grateful. A special thanks the nurses and staff of Lehigh Valley Hospital for their kindness and respect shown at all times, the readers and musicians; and finally, Grace Funeral Chapels for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements. To those who helped in any way, your contributions made our loss more bearable.
