Mr. Gerald T. Foster

Gerald Thomas Foster, also known as Jerry and best known as OG, beloved son of Joe and Geraldine Lois Foster, was born on March 25, 1958 at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Gerald transitioned from this earthly world to be with the Lord on March 6, 2018. Jerry attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where he was known for his athleticism as the star running-back of the football team. He later went on to graduate from Mercy College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. In 1990, Jerry met the love of his life Yvonne Jerido. Their journey together was nothing short of amazing. The couple was blessed with three children, Jerome, Taqone and Jasmine. The light of their lives. He would do anything for his family. Jerry was employed with security services before taking on a job in the food industry. Here he found his passion, with over 20 years of dedicated service in the industry; his most recent position as a food inspector at Morimoto. During this time, he also worked as a residential superintendent. This showed his hardworking nature and dedication that he held to his family. When Jerry was not working, he was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Often taking them to the neighborhood park for the entire day. On Saturday’s you’d find him jamming to his favorite music around the house. A vibrant spirit, Jerry was always the life of the party – as the first one on the dancefloor and the last one off. In the summertime, he loved to barbecue. You’d have to pull him away from a grill. With his heart of gold, Jerry was known for his selfless acts. He would never hesitate to offer a helping hand or even his home. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile that lit up a room. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Foster and Geraldine Lois Foster; two brothers, Allen Cunningham and Joel Foster; and nephew, Joel Foster (AKA JoJoe). Surviving to cherish his memory is his spouse, Yvonne; two sons: Jerome and Taqone; daughter: Jasmine; grandchildren: Ja’ziyah, Tayden and Tyrie; siblings, eight sisters: Pudding, Lorraine, Laverne, JoAnne, Phyllis, Angie, Lennine and Darvena; 3 brothers: Fred, Dion and Oscar; Aunts Phyllis and Janice, Uncle Freddie; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
