Joyce E. Jones

Our beloved Joyce Elise Berry Jones was born to Barbara Ritzy Dell and Fredrick Berry in Harlem NY on August 25th 1952 Joyce attended Washington Irving Highschool School where she thrived as a young student, After High school she worked in the neighborhood Dry Cleaners being of service.to her community. Joyce also worked with the Summer Youth as a counselor then became a Home Attendant caring for her patients with love and compassion following her passion for helping others she became a Senior clerk at Brooklyn Criminal Court , after many years of service she felt her Professional life’s work had been done., she retired. Joyce met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart Donald Sonny Jones, they married in 1971 and through their Union Joyce and Donald welcomed their two beautiful daughters Nicole Riahna Berry and Donnielle LePert, Jones McGill and few years later through her Union with Thomas Windley together they had another beautiful daughter Vivica Shevun Jones. Joyce was a loving, kind, beautiful woman of God who considered her whole life as a service to the ones she loved. Joyce loved being a daughter, sister, cousin, Auntie and friend but most importantly her role as a Mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother was her pride and Joy. Joyce loved hard and had so much love to give to her family, community and extended family, if she loved you she made sure you knew it and you felt it. Joyce had the most beautiful heart but it’s her million dollar smile and everlasting love that you’d never forget once you were in her presence, she was the glue that kept everything together with love. Joyce was a person you could always count on to show up for you, listen with love and support you no matter what the situation. Joyce’s absolute joy was to be there with and for the ones she loved. Joyce’s daughters wrote a dedication of love to their beloved Mother. Joyce Elise Berry Jones. Her name is the meaning of love and life and laughter and wisdom. Friendship and brotherhood and sisterhood. Wife, daughter (JEB) granddaughter (Joycie) big sister. Mommy and grandma and gran gran. Godmommy and auntie. One of kind and authentic, original and unique. Rode dog and ride or die. Confidant and therapist. Best friend for life. Teacher, provider. Cook, taste tester (put a little bit in my hand nick). God glorifier Jesus lover. Music connoisseur and DJ and singer. A rock and a stronghold. Strength whenever you may need it. A guide and light. Comedian and dancer. Giver of compliments and admirer of styles and souls. Big spender and big gifter. Disciplinary and kindness. Honesty and integrity. Adventuring and bold and fearless. Offerer of favors and grace. Life time member and leader of good times had for all. Angelic and thoughtful. This is how she will be remembered to all who knows and loves her forever more. Our Mommie had an Enormous Heart as she selflessly gave shelter Food wisdom and protection to all that needed. Mommie would give you a delectable meal and the shirt off her back. Mommies advice and guidance is unmatched to none. Mommies rice and peas would be requested at every occasion. No one can make a better Breakfast. Nor cook up a pot of Blue Crab like Joyce . 91 Monroe street will forever be remembered because of Our Mother. Not only was she a mother , grandmother and great grandmother to her own children. She was a mother grandmother and great grandmother to all . Her love and understanding is unmatched. Just as Mommie is gorgeous on the outside, she's phenomenal on the inside. An earth Angel too magnificent to stay Mommie did a job well done. As Mommie fought her illnesses never did she once complain. Mommie always was God fearing and Baptized putting God as the head of her life. Joyce is now resting in Paradise and watching over her loved ones as she did in life, August 27th 2024 was the day the sunset for Joyce, she transitioned to be with her heavenly father who prepared a place for her to rest in eternal peace. Joyce will be greatly missed but never forgotten for her family will forever keep her memory and love alive in their hearts. Joyce leaves behind to mourn her Decease brother Pertel Charles Robinson the 3rd and brother Leroy Griffin , nephew Pertel Charles Robinson the 4th, her niece Ritzy Griffin, Godson Michael Thompson, Elder Willie Dean Thompson her beloved three daughters Nicole Berry, Donnielle Jones McGill and Vivica Jones along with her Son in law Artie McGill, her beloved-grandchildren, Riahna,, Cordell, Serina, Jayvonne, Katrina, Zhane, Tahjay, Elijah, Ahmira, Makenzie, Khyrie, Jason, Keitonia, as well as Jazmine Lee. Great grandchildren , Imani, Zaniah, Ariela, Cordell, Elijah, London, Corey, Azarie, Cartier, Rihanna Janae, Joclyn, Kamari, Kaden, Gabriel, Blessen, Julius, Maniya, Aliyah, Zania, Zakari Great great granddaughter Brielle, Jones, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. The family would like to send a special acknowledgement to her sister in laws Carrie Windley, Celeste Griffin, Patricia Jones, Barbara Sue Robinson, along with Catherine Wright, Yvonne, Taylor, Yvonne Capers, Carletta Joyce, Taylor Coffee, Karen Jones, Karen Cook and many others who have supported this family.
