Patricia Ann Wilson

Patricia Ann Wilson, affectionately known as "Pat" was born October 5, 1955 to Hattie Wilson- Gaskin and the late Willie Morris, in Far Rockaway, NY. She later moved to East New York, Brooklyn, where she worked and lived for her entire life. In June 1973, Patricia earned her High School Diploma from Thomas Jefferson High School. After High School, Pat attended Medgar Evers College where she received Key Punch Training. Because taking care of others was near and dear to her heart, she also received Certified Training in Home Attendant Care Services. Throughout her life, Pat lovingly cared for anyone who was sick, disabled, or just needed guidance. She would provide motherly guidance, stern discipline, and/or a beautiful song to anyone in need. She sang like a songbird and could be "heard" before she was "seen". To know Pat is to lover her. She lived a full life, marched to the beat of her own drum, and always remained true to herself and to others. On September 11, 1974, Pat was blessed with a beautiful daughter - Natasha Monique Wilson, whom she shared with Marvin Angerlee Perry. On December 24, 2002, she received (in her exact words) "the light of her life", her grandson Jalen Avery Judge. She and Jalen shared a very special bond and he adored his Grandma immensely. She loved and supported him unconditionally and loved taking him to the park and playing basketball with him. Grandma will live in Jalen's heart forever. Pat departed this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Wilson, Edward Wilson, and James Gaskin; sister, Berniece Wilson; uncle, Albert Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Natasha Monique Wilson and grandson, Jalen Avery Judge of Brooklyn, NY; mother, Hattie Wilson-Gaskin and step father Sam Gaskin of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Sharon Morris of Queens, NY; brothers, Lawrence Wilson of Queens, NY and Claxton Wilson of Stafford VA; uncle, Ernest Wilson of Brooklyn, NY; long time companion, Mr. James Smith of Brooklyn, NY; special friends, Gwendolyn Breland of Brooklyn, NY; Eileen Wright of Brooklyn, NY; as well as a loving host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. Pat loved her community and the people who lived there; she would help anybody in any way possible. Many have expressed just how large her heart was; many times doing for others and not letting anyone else know. She was a lover of people. Pat was a member of New Genesis Christian Center, Brooklyn, NY, where she sang in the choir.
