Mr. Philbert Clouden

On January 7th, 2019 Philbert C. Clouden passed away at the age of 69 years. He was the fourth out of twelve children born to Austin and Daphne Clouden. Phil attended the Laventille Boy’s school and later Osborne Secondary School in, Port-Of-Spain Trinidad. At 19 years old ambition drove him to immigrate to further his education, so he migrated to the United States of America and resided with his big brother Anthony Clouden. Phil worked in the day and attended St Francis College at night. Where he earned a B.A. in business administration. He also obtained many certificates in Transportation and Logistics. His first job was a shipping manager for a garment company, he stayed about five years and then moved on to McGraw-Hill to use his Knowledge to improve their Transportation Department. He was given a real chance to be Mr. Transportation & Logistics at the company he learned to love Leviton Mfg. He was employed for approximately 25years. He was loved and respected by his staff and in return respected them. He shared his knowledge by working as a teacher at Pace University. Phil loved his Trinidad Culture after his retirement he had a passion for learning to play the steelpan, so he hired a pianist to teach him how. He got a chance to show off what he learned when he played Happy Birthday to his wife. Phil visited his homeland every year. He stayed active in the community where he was born, at the time of his death he was in the middle of preparing for his annual visit for carnival and to contribute to the community event. He was also a member of the People National Movement, People’s committee. Phil loves to travel and met a great many different peoples. He was planning to continue more traveling when he retired. Phil is survived by his wife of forty-two years Lorna Parris-Clouden his two sons Kwame Clouden, Kobie Clouden and his three stepchildren Lawrence, Kimfa and Napha, his loving family Annmarie and Karen his sisters and his nine brothers, Anthony, Randolph, Augustus, Garvin, Grantley, Romain, Andy, Kelvin, Kerwyn. Numerous nieces and nephews, lifelong friends and acquaintances. “SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW YOUR WORTH. YOU DON’T NEED TOO MANY PEOPLE TO BE HAPPY, JUST A FEW REAL ONES WHO APPRECIATE YOU FOR EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE.” The above quotes sum up Philbert Clouden as the wonderful people person that he was. On his retirement, his Leviton family place the above quotation in the picture life journey album they made for him.
