Darlene was raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a child she loved to read and was educated by Brooklyn public schools. She attended Clara Barton High School and than went to BMCC to further her education. Darlene assumed a position at Chemical Bank for several years. In 1988 she started working for Jacob K. Javits Center where she held her position for 32 years. Darlene was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Darlene was famous for her sayings “Get Your Blasted”, Dont Play Me Play Lotto” and “I Swear To My Mother”. Her laugh was contagious and her presence made people gravitate to her. She will be greatly missed. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her 4 children Natifia, Dont’e, Tikiana and Lashanya. One son in law Anthony. One daughter in law Inezia. 6 grandchildren Deonte, Jayden, Nevaeh, Meelah, Ryan and Ava. 2 sisters Jacqueline and Anne in-law Gary (B.B). Eight nephews Sean, Jamal, Devon, Darren, David, Antione, Jawon and Kyle. Eleven nieces Tanika, Chantel, Keisha, Latisha, Laquita, Jennifer, Precious, Tashara, Latia, Shateema and Desinee. 11 great nephews Tyrique, Saundvalle, DJ, Ovionne, Caron, Christian, Jamal, Jabari, Syaire, AJ, EZekil, Zion. 15 great nieces Sinyka, Ralika, Alexandria, Zoey, Aliyah, Allyson, Taraneika, Quiara, Camille, Giana, Artierra, Artazia, Willow, April, Demi. 2 great great nephews Jordan and N’Khari. And 1 great great niece Nylah. She also leaves behind many cousins and life long friends.
