Mrs. Dorothea Creer-Carr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothea Creer was born on December 2, 1956, to the late Maggie Lou Creer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. She was the 3rd daughter of six girls. She departed this life on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 Dorothea attended Public School in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Emmaus Hall High School, She attended Bronx Community College with Associated Degree. She worked at New York Telephone Company, (Operator) Fort Greene Community Adult Social Daycare Senior Center (Arts & Craft Teacher), Fort Greene Young Minds Daycare Center (Teacher) until 2019. Dorothea made major decision to get life back by joining a 12-step program where she met and married her late husband, Robert Carr (Deceased) She stayed clean for 30 years & 9 days before her death. Her clean date October 28, 1991. She inspired others as well to share this new way of life. Dorothea was a real friend, sponsor, sponsee. She had a wonderful support group She helpedstarted and loved Bowling. She bowled on the Serenity League for over 20 years. She loved traveling. She did not have any children of her own, however, she really loved working with children everywhere. She loved sharing her craft with them, which was coloring, art, painting, puzzles, decorations, etc. To know her was to love her. Her spirit was full of love. Dorothea was very close to her sisters. She spent every holiday with her family since she was a little girl. Holiday gathering were important to her. Her mother taught the importance of family first and keep them close. Dorothea loved the Lord, She joined First Calvary Baptist Church in 2018. She joined the Adult Senior Class, then became a Sunday School Teacher for the youth. She loved her children. Dorothea left to cherish her mermories: Five Sisters: Patricia Creer, Denise Creer, Charlene Creer, Karen Creer.
