Mrs. Philomene Dumay

May 26, 1928 - January 10, 2022

OBITUARY Philomene DUMAY (May 26, 1928 – January 10, 2022) Philomene Volcy Pierre Louis DUMAY was born in May 26, 1928, in Jeanrabel, in a small suburb called Guinode, in Northwest HAITI to Mrs. And Mr. Volce Pierre Louis. The later served as a senior officer in the Armed Forces of Haiti in the rank of Lieutenant. Among her siblings are George Pierre Louis, Seizeman Pierre Louis, Arnold Pierre Louis and an honorable cousin called Lt. Colonel Michel Cesaire who were very close to her and the family. In any case, Mrs Philomene Dumay reportedly spent her childhood in Port-de-Paix, Jeanrabel, but came to live in Port-au-prince in the late 1950’s, where she met Saint Jean Dumay and have six children: Fenol, Michel-Frederique, Gedeon, Emmanuel. Volce and Carline, among them five boys and only one girl. At her young age, Mrs. Philomene Dumay engaged herself in Business to become a “Madame Sarah,” in Freres, Petionville, where she braved all circumstances to raise all of her six children. By the year 1961, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and persevered at the Baptiste Church in Delmas Petionville pastored by Felix Senat. At Freres, she became a member of the Baptist Church led by Pastor Rene Saintvil. In 1991, not long after the passing of her husband Saint Jean Dumay, a respectable husband and father, she retired and arrived in the United States in 2008 under the care of her sons Prof. Michel Dumay and Rev. Emmanuel Dumay as well as her daughters in law Mrs. Andrelie Dumay and Mrs. Rhoda Dumay. She went back to Haiti in 2009. But during the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti, she was brought back to New York, and continues to attend the Abundant Harvest Church of God pastored by Bishop Antonio Rivette and now Rev. Past. Daniel Rivette. Anyway, in New York, she spent the rest of her life until she peacefully passed away last Monday January 10th at Apex Rehabilitation Center in Long Island, NY. An admirable and distinguish woman, a lovely sister in Christ, Philomene Dumay, goes home and was received gloriously by our Lord Jesus in heaven. God blesses her with a long life and may God continue to bless her family.
