Mrs. Rosa Mae Mcneal

December 22, 1932 - January 6, 2022

Rosa Mae Lee McNeal was born on December 22, 1932 to the late Florence Green and James Lee in Durham, NC. She was a widow of Maurice McNeal and gave birth to 12 children. Rosa McNeal departed this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Rosa relocated to New York from North Carolina at the tender age of 14 where she would live a blessed life. She worked many jobs to support her family until she began working at a New York City Public school as a school luncheon aide in Brooklyn, NY until she retired. Rosa accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Thessalonia Baptist Church in Brooklyn. She was affectionately called “The Mother of the Church”. Rosa was a monumental part of the McNeal family and will be missed dearly. She leaves to mourn 1 sister, Peggy, 3 daughters, Pearl, Catherine and Dorothy, 2 sons, William and Gary, and a host of great grandchildren, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
