Mr. Albert "Abs" McLeod

On December 27, 1971, in Brooklyn, New York, Albert Porter McLeod III was born to the parents of Albert P. McLeod II and Alberta M. McLeod. Albert, otherwise known as Abs, was formerly raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York and Steubenville, Ohio. As a young boy he relished in attending church, bible study, and in activities such as play baseball, basketball, fishing and hunting with his grandparents. Most of all, Abs loved dogs and long distance drives on the road. It seems like only yesterday when Abs would visit New York with the only notice being the ring of your doorbell or the beeping of your phone followed by the release of his voice. Abs would yell “It’s me, Let me in.” Then, a couple of days later, he would say, “I have to get back to Ohio, I left my dogs”. Moreover, if you knew Abs, then you knew he loved to gamble, whether it was a card game or a dice game. He would say “I ain’t got no money” meanwhile have a pocket full of money. Most of all, as a loving father of two, he appreciated moments of laughter with his family and friends. On September 24, 2019, Abs was called home to the Kingdom of the Lord whom he quietly served. While his life was cut short, we can be confident he is in heaven looking for a dice or card game making everyone laugh. Albert will forever live within the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his children (Daughter, Yaz’Maine McLeod and Son Khi McLeod), his parents (Father Albert P. McLeod II, his mother Alberta McLeod), his brothers (Benjamin, Randy, Robert, Mitchell, Anthony, Jim, Terrence, Andre, Thaddeus, and Jimmale), his sisters (Dorothy, Denise, Gail, Cicely, Sofia, Shurrie and Corinthian), his grandchildren (Ny’lah McLeod-Kranger and Burphy Kranger), his Uncles (Tyrone Lane, James Ferguson), Aunts (Henrietta Winslow, Lillian Ferguson, Myra K. McLeod and Betty Lane), as well as his sisters-in-law (Sharon Shim and Deborah McLeod), brother-in-law Sheldon Street, 44 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great nephew. Additionally, numerous cousins and friends as to which he loved dearly. Whether it be his smile or laughter that we remember, Albert will truly be missed by all.
