Mrs. Frances O'Neal

Obituary Frances O’Neal, 75, Born as Frances Hall in Chicago IL, January 16, 1941, to the late Thelma Hayes and Sergeant Grant Hall. Through her young life Frances worked as a Domestic for a woman, where she learned many things that held a profound impact on her life, such as Crocheting, Sewing, Cooking, Baking, Cleaning, Gardening, and Fashion. At age 16 Frances graduated Dunbar Vocational High School for the Gifted in Chicago IL. Later that year her family moved to New York City. (She, her older sister, Willie-Mae Hicks, and younger sister Linda Hayes. At age 17, her sister Deborah Hayes was added to the family.) She attended Medgar Ever College, and after 4 years obtained her degree in Human Services. Frances 19, Obtained her first apartment in Corona, Queens New York, while working as an Administrative Assistant, while she also pursued Modeling. At age 21 Frances welcomed her daughter Princess Diaz into the world and started her motherhood journey. One year later, on the bus she rode to work every day, Frances met the love of her life, Richard O’Neal. They were married and loved each other for over 25 years until he died October, 1988. She worked for the United States Postal Services, and retired at the Queens State Division Department of Parole. She enjoyed plenty in her life. As stated, in her younger years she was a professional model and was known for her grace and class. Frances was known for so many things, such as her beautiful sewing and crocheting, as well as her love for plants. She created plenty, like clothing for her and her daughter, and her beautiful curtains for her home. She loved cooking and baking, and her family adored her neck bones and beans and peach cobbler. Frances was the matriarch of her family, she held the history and memories of her family. As you can see in the Collage which holds a fraction of the photos she held in the many photo albums she owned of her family and loved ones. Frances leaves her only child, Princess Diaz, her grandchildren, Toriano Trantham, Richard Trantham, Melissa Diaz, her great grandchildren, Stephon Trantham, Daquan Trantham, Samuel Trantham, and Prince Trantham, and her sister Deborah Smith. Frances also leaves a host Cousins, Nieces, nephews, and friends. Frances is preceded in death by her mother Thelma Hayes, her father Sergeant Grant Hall, and her sisters Willie-Mae Hayes and Linda Cesar.
