Kenneth Cooper

KENNETH, the son of Martha and Roscoe Cooper was the youngest boy, 11th child and sole survivor of 12. He was born on October 24, 1929 year of the CRASH in Brooklyn, New York. Kenneth went to Brooklyn schools and Bushwick High Areal Bed-Stuy Guy. He went to work early to help his family while other siblings furthered their schooling. He attended Spedia school for investigations. He met the love of his life in 1948, Angelina B. Cooper, and was married on June 17, 1951. There marriage lasted for 65 years. From this union they were blessed with 5 children ~ Gary, Gavin, Virginia (Ginny), Kenny, Jr., and Carla also adopted were Miriam’s two sons. He met the love of His life in 1948, Angelina B. Later on two children Steve and Francine; 15 grandchildren: Kenneth III Pierce, Chad Kalil, Nia, Dikari, Kennethia, Dant, Ryan, Victoria, Kaylee, Stephania, and one deceased granddaughter Shatavia. Deceased son-in-law Otha Nathan, living son-in-law Vincent Morella, Ronald Richards, two daughter-in-law Patricia Cooper and Linda Cooper. Growing up he had a relentless desire to be a young policeman. It happened in 1968 what was known as Civil Defense Assistant. He’s Truly a Civil Servant. Kenneth made history as 1st black native American to become Deputy Chief of the Auxiliary Division in Brooklyn North. Kenneth also was the chef cooking for seniors on Thanksgiving. He did Santa on Christmas for the children. Very devoted Christian. Belong to West Minister United Presbyterian Church where he was scout master and deacon of the church in plays- role the judge. He march against the top dignitaries such as Nelson Mandela. He loved working with the Auxiliary Police to improve communities. He climbed the ranks all the way to Deputy Chief. He also was an honorary chief of Shinnecock Nation, and finally Doctor of Humanities. He always made time for home, for family dinners, outing, barbeques, renovating projects, play clarinet, some smooth scotch and a fine cigar. That’s Auxiliary Deputy Chief Dr. Kenneth A. Cooper One of America’s Greatest. My Dad. He leaves to mourn his nieces, nephews, great and great~great nieces and nephews along with many friends and a host of great people.
