Rosetta D. Anderson

Rosetta D. Taylor Anderson Rosetta Denise Taylor was born on April 13, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, from the union of Anne and John Taylor. Rosetta received her education in New York, graduating from Alexander Hamilton High School and LaGuardia Community College. She married her high school sweetheart, Frederick Anderson, and from their union, two children were born. Rosetta and Frederick later divorced. A few years later, she met her beloved fiancé, Paul Simmons, with whom she shared her life until his passing. Rosetta was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked as a Data Entry Clerk with the Federal Reserve Bank and later as a Secretary for Zucker Hillside Hospital, where she retired in April 2025. Her strong work ethic and commitment were rewarded throughout her career. Rosetta's greatest joy was her children, who were truly her world. She was loving, outgoing, outspoken, and fiercely protective of those she loved. Her honesty and humor made her unforgettable. She would often remind others, “Think, you're not thinking, use your head! Hello!”—a saying that captured her unique personality. Rosetta loved to cook, creating meals loved by all. Purple was her favorite color. She enjoyed music, dancing, slot machines, scratch-offs, Lotto, and other games of chance. One of her favorite songs was “My Love Is Free” by Double Exposure. Rosetta cherished spending time with family and friends and creating lasting memories. She was the life of the party. Rosetta attended Macedonia Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worship and took great joy in bringing her grandchildren to church to help them strengthen and grow in their relationship with Christ. She shared this spiritual journey with her spiritual sister, Claudette Myers. Rosetta leaves to cherish her precious memories her two sons, Freddie and Joshua Anderson; her grandchildren, Joshua Anderson Jr., Isaiah and Jeremiah Anderson, Jaheim Anderson, Jacob Anderson and Ja'mir Anderson; her siblings, Cynthia (Taylor) Burrows, John Taylor Jr., and Michael Taylor; her nephews, Joseph Simms Jr., Siaka Simms, Harold Burrows, Daniel Butler, Michael Taylor Jr., Emmanuel Green Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, John Taylor Jr., and Jamaal Taylor; her nieces, Tiffany Taylor and Lashawnda Taylor; her aunts, Jennifer Loyd, Cheryl Moffett, Shirley and Wanda Seales, and Dorothy Powell; her uncles, Willie Seales Jr., Arthur Cooper, David Seales, and Rodney Seales; her godchildren, Briana and Brandon Miller; along with a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved fiancé, Paul Simmons; her sisters, Janet Taylor and Melinda Taylor Green; her brother, Mitchell Taylor; and her parents, Anne Taylor Breland and John Taylor. The family extends special thanks to Jasmine Miller, Claudette Myers, and Marguerite Edwards-Canada for the love, support and care they provided to Rosetta. Rosetta's love, strength, honesty, and unforgettable personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever with her family and friends.
